Job description

Company Overview

3D Vector Inc. is a Canada-based engineering and design firm focused on advanced 3D printing, scanning, and reverse engineering services. With deep experience across engineering, design, and manufacturing, the company develops high-quality solutions for complex product and prototyping needs. Its work spans technologies such as SLA, SLS, and DMLS, and it is known for technical depth, modern tools, strict quality control, and closely tailored client collaboration.

Role Summary

The 3D CAD Designer will produce precise 3D models, assemblies, and technical drawings that support product development, prototyping, and manufacturing. This position is full-time and hybrid, based in Mississauga, Ontario, with a balance of on-site teamwork and work-from-home flexibility.

Core Work

  • Interpret design inputs and convert them into practical CAD solutions.
  • Create, update, and refine 3D models and assemblies as projects evolve.
  • Prepare construction and fabrication drawings that are clear and manufacturing-ready.
  • Ensure all designs align with engineering requirements and quality expectations.
  • Work closely with engineers, project managers, and production teams to improve designs for 3D printing and reverse engineering projects.
  • Record design revisions and keep CAD files structured and easy to manage.
  • Support ongoing improvements to design processes and drafting best practices.

Qualifications

  • Strong hands-on ability in CAD and design engineering, with a track record of building accurate 3D models and assemblies.
  • Good command of technical drawing practices, including construction and manufacturing drawings.
  • Exposure to 3D printing, additive manufacturing, or reverse engineering is an advantage.
  • Ability to read engineering specifications and convert them into reliable design outputs.
  • Strong analytical thinking, precision, and the ability to juggle several deadlines at once.
  • Clear communication and teamwork skills, especially in a hybrid, cross-functional setting.
  • Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related technical area, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Familiarity with quality control procedures and design file version management is helpful.

Additional Information

This role requires close coordination with technical and production teams and may involve work tied to advanced manufacturing methods, including SLA, SLS, and DMLS. The employer values customized solutions, process discipline, and consistent documentation of design changes.
