Role overview
Leigh & Co. Events is a rapidly expanding wedding planning business seeking a Lead Wedding Coordinator to support couples on their wedding day. This contract opportunity is designed for someone who wants to grow in wedding planning, and it includes training plus the flexibility to choose your own schedule. The company focuses on wedding design, coordination, and planning, and is hiring for the 2026 season and beyond.
What you will do
In this role, you will act as the lead planner for weddings, with most of the work taking place onsite. You will collaborate with client experience managers during pre-wedding planning and with assistant coordinators during the event to help deliver a smooth execution.
- Join a final planning call with clients about six weeks before the wedding to confirm logistics, timing, and expectations.
- Run the ceremony rehearsal the day before the wedding so everyone understands the sequence, timing, and key cues.
- Represent the couple onsite, keeping a composed, problem-solving approach when challenges come up.
- Supervise ceremony and reception setup so it matches the intended design and day-of execution plan.
- Oversee the wedding day from vendor arrival through end-of-night breakdown.
- Welcome vendors, guide them, and serve as the main onsite contact.
- Clearly relay setup directions so vendors stay aligned with the event plan.
- Help place guest and décor items such as escort cards, menus, table numbers, favors, guest books, and other decorative pieces.
- Support the wedding party and family members with timing guidance and day-of assistance.
- Make sure end-of-event belongings such as gifts, guest books, and personal décor are packed and accounted for.
- Handle urgent changes or issues quickly to protect the guest experience.
Requirements
This role requires weekend availability, at least two years of experience in wedding planning or event planning, strong communication skills, attention to detail, dependable transportation, and the ability to carry or lift up to 30 lbs.
Additional information
This is a contract position. Compensation is $400 per project for a total of 10 to 12 hours of work. Training is included, and candidates should be comfortable joining for the 2026 season and future projects.
