Role overview
This opportunity is with a high-performing boutique search firm that works with venture-backed technology companies. The team is intentionally small and benefits from a steady flow of inbound opportunities built through long-standing relationships with founders and investors. The firm is looking for a principal-level GTM recruiter who can contribute directly to revenue and own searches independently.
Impact and earning potential
- Strong producers are currently generating more than $1.2M in annual fees.
- Top performers reach approximately $1.5M to $2.0M or more.
- At the high end, payout can reach 50% to 60%.
Key ownership areas
- Independently lead 5 to 8 retained GTM searches at a time from start to finish across VP/Head of Sales, VP/Head of Marketing, CRO, CCO, and similar leadership positions.
- Work directly with founders, CEOs, and GTM leaders at startups in the Series A to Series C stage.
- Own the full search process, including briefing, defining scorecards, market calibration, process management, and final closure.
- Leverage a strong distribution network built across more than 200 VC and operator relationships, including names such as Sequoia, a16z, First Round, Emergence, and Bessemer.
- Use each successful search to create repeat business and referrals, helping establish yourself as the preferred partner for founders and portfolio companies.

Profile that will succeed here
- 5 to 10 years of experience in GTM search or recruiting, with a focus on venture-backed SaaS or technology businesses.
- Proven recent billing performance in the range of $750K to $1.25M or higher, with evidence of top-tier achievement such as President's Club, top-biller recognition, or #1 rankings.
- Either retained search experience or a strong contingent recruiting background, along with the drive and trajectory to step into a retained model.
Compensation
- Base salary of $100K to $120K+, with flexibility for the right candidate.
- On-target earnings of $500K+.
