Role overview

Arnold Clark is seeking an energetic and driven Valeter to support the Vauxhall branch in Livingston. The role focuses on preparing vehicles to a very high standard so they are presented in excellent condition for customers and stock display.

What the role involves

• Preparing sold and stock vehicles to a consistently high finish.
• Washing exterior surfaces using high-pressure equipment.
• Vacuuming and shampooing interiors with professional cleaning tools.
• Using polishing and buffing machinery to improve the appearance of bodywork.
• Following health and safety rules when handling cleaning chemicals.
• Keeping tools and machinery safe, secure, and in good working order, and reporting faults when needed.
• Working within set deadlines and performance targets.
• Managing vehicle bookings through an online diary system.
• Recording completed work each day.
• Providing additional branch support whenever required.

What the employer is looking for

This opportunity suits someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in accuracy and presentation, and works well in a team. Previous valeting experience is helpful but not mandatory, as full training can be provided for candidates who show strong enthusiasm and meet the other criteria. All new valet staff will attend the company’s Valet Academy.

Working hours

This is a full-time role with the following schedule: Monday to Thursday from 8:00am to 5:30pm, Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm, and alternate Saturdays from 8:00am to 12:00pm.
