Utility Operator - Cell Relining

Job purpose

This role supports the Cell Relining Operator in refurbishing superstructures and carrying out cell relining work, including pot changes and pot shell rebuilding. The work must be completed safely, efficiently, and in line with standard procedures so production targets are met.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare all required tools and equipment in advance for casting activities, ensuring the work is ready to begin safely and efficiently.
• Operate mobile equipment such as forklifts and pay loaders when needed, while following all safety rules and procedures.
• Support brick lining work according to the required standards and design specifications.
• Assist with superstructure refurbishment, welding, fabrication tasks, and ramming processes.
• Keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with housekeeping standards at all times.

Qualifications and experience

Candidates must have completed the training modules required for the PG5 position. Prior experience of one year in heavy industry is preferred.

Skills and training

Relevant training includes Aluminium/Water Explosions and Electrical Hazards. A Forklift Licence Category 7 is also required.
