Role Overview
This contract opportunity is for an intermediate test analyst supporting a Government of Alberta technology initiative focused on modernizing the procurement system. The work centers on end-to-end quality assurance for enterprise ERP and procurement platforms, with an emphasis on testing rigor, defect control, and validation of Source-to-Pay business workflows.
Engagement Details

Core Responsibilities
- Create, maintain, and run test plans, test cases, and scenario-based test coverage.
- Join requirements and design review discussions to clarify what needs to be tested.
- Plan and perform system, integration, regression, SIT, and UAT testing activities.
- Manage test data, test environments, and the progression of test execution cycles.
- Record defects, monitor them through closure, and support resolution follow-up.
- Review outcomes against acceptance and exit criteria to confirm readiness.
- Prepare and share testing updates, metrics, dashboards, and risk summaries.
- Work closely with business stakeholders, subject matter experts, developers, and project teams.
- Support testing of ERP and procurement flows, including connected systems and integrations.
- Help strengthen QA practices and identify opportunities to improve testing processes.
Required Background
- A bachelor’s degree or diploma in IT, Computer Science, Business, Finance, or a related discipline.
- At least 4 years of experience in QA, software testing, or UAT coordination within enterprise settings.
- At least 4 years of experience building test plans, writing test cases, and executing tests.
- At least 4 years of experience coordinating testing efforts across multiple teams.
- At least 4 years of experience handling defect tracking, reporting, and QA lifecycle activities.
- Experience supporting ERP environments such as SAP, procurement, finance, or supply chain systems.
- At least 3 years of experience monitoring test metrics, risks, and status reporting.
- At least 1 year of practical Source-to-Pay testing experience with tools or platforms such as SAP Ariba or S/4HANA.
- Strong verbal and written communication, coordination, and stakeholder management abilities.
Preferred Experience
- Exposure to SAP Ariba, SAC, VIM, Fieldglass, or comparable ERP tooling.
- Experience with integration or API testing and complete end-to-end process validation.
- Working knowledge of JIRA or similar defect management tools.
- Understanding of ERP implementation and testing lifecycles.
- Hands-on involvement in smoke, regression, system, integration, and UAT testing.
- Capability to manage competing priorities and work independently when needed.
Working Conditions
- Full-time on-site role in Edmonton with no remote option.
- Standard working hours are 08:15 to 16:30, Monday through Friday.
- Work must be performed within Canada.
- Government-issued equipment will be provided.
- A background check is mandatory.
- Security and privacy training must be completed during onboarding.
