Overview
This FBI special agent role is designed for professionals with a background in accounting or finance who want to apply their analytical expertise to federal investigations. The advertised position is exempt from the federal civilian hiring freeze. In this role, you will go beyond traditional finance work by helping investigate matters tied to cybercrime, terrorism, fraud, public safety, and other national security threats. You will receive specialized training, hands-on investigative exposure, and access to advanced technology while developing stronger financial analysis, reconciliation, and leadership capabilities.

Salary
The pay band for this role is $103,236 to $133,200. Compensation may vary depending on base pay, locality, and availability pay.
Key Duties
- Lead and support investigations involving possible violations of federal law, cybersecurity incidents, and public safety matters.
- Use sound judgment, initiative, and flexibility to handle complex investigative situations.
- Build and sustain working relationships with federal, state, local, tribal, territorial, and international law enforcement partners.
- Maintain the physical fitness level needed to carry out law enforcement responsibilities effectively.
Requirements
- You must be a U.S. citizen.
- You must be eligible to receive Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance.
- You must be available to travel when the role requires it.
- You must satisfy the FBI’s employment eligibility standards.
- You need a bachelor’s degree or higher from a U.S.-accredited college or university, preferably in accounting or a related area such as business administration, finance, or forensic accounting.
- All academic credentials must be confirmed through official college transcripts.
