Scientific Document Specialist

Position

This opening is for an Applied Sciences specialist focused on Visual Document Understanding.

Compensation and schedule

The role is a contract assignment paying $50 per hour. It is fully remote and requires a commitment of 15 to 20 hours each week.

Key responsibilities

• Assess how accurately AI-generated scientific content handles physics, chemistry, and biology, with attention to depth, reasoning, and rigor.
• Examine detailed scientific documents to confirm they follow accepted domain concepts, principles, and methods.
• Share precise, organized feedback with AI research teams so training data can be improved and model performance can be strengthened.
• Create evaluation rubrics and benchmarks for judging scientific AI tasks and solution quality.
• Partner with subject matter experts to maintain consistency, relevance, and wide coverage across datasets.
• Work autonomously and on an asynchronous schedule while meeting deadlines and helping improve model output quality.

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge in at least one of the following areas: physics, chemistry, or biology.
• Prior experience evaluating AI models.
• Strong analytical ability and problem-solving capability.
