Role overview

The Quality & CSR Manager will oversee the rollout and day-to-day control of Lacoste’s quality, compliance, and sustainability requirements across the Indian supply chain, spanning T1 through T4. These standards are set by the central quality team at headquarters in Paris.

The role covers garment factories, weaving and knitting facilities, dyeing mills, washing units, and spinning operations. It is a hands-on position that depends on frequent factory visits, disciplined follow-up, and strict control over compliance and execution.

Quality control and product conformity

  • Lead in-line and final product inspections across manufacturing sites.
  • Oversee and coordinate a team of three external quality control resources.
  • Check and approve inspection findings submitted by Factory Certified Auditors (FCA).
  • Make sure internal inspection outcomes align with third-party audit results.
  • Arrange fabric and garment samples for laboratory evaluation.
  • Assess lab reports covering technical performance, chemical compliance, and cotton origin.
  • Track non-conformity levels and drive corrective action where needed.

Factory audits and compliance governance

  • Plan and monitor third-party audits across technical, social, and environmental areas.
  • Follow through until Corrective Action Plans are fully closed.
  • Build, maintain, and strengthen the FCA network within Lacoste factories.
  • Keep a close watch on audit coverage and overall compliance performance.
  • Ensure suppliers consistently meet Lacoste’s quality and CSR expectations.

CSR and sustainability deployment

  • Manage technical, social, and environmental audits across Lacoste production sites in India.
  • Roll out the “Durable Elegance” sustainability roadmap with suppliers.
  • Track environmental indicators such as CO₂, water usage, waste, ZDHC requirements, no-coal compliance, and SBTi alignment.
  • Ensure reliable data capture for traceability and environmental reporting in Lacoste systems.
  • Encourage supplier involvement in programs including Higg FEM, ZDHC, and similar initiatives.
  • Seek and monitor external certifications such as GOTS, OCS, and GRS in line with brand goals.

Experience and profile

The position calls for an engineering master’s degree in textile, industrial, environmental, or a related discipline, along with more than 15 years of experience in quality roles within the textile or apparel sector. A background in CSR is also required.

Candidates should have a strong command of textile manufacturing, including fabric development, dyeing, and garment construction, as well as awareness of social and environmental risks in the textile supply chain. Experience handling audits, compliance follow-up, and collaboration with international brands is important.

The role also requires excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communication abilities, plus a willingness to travel frequently across India.

Additional information

This is a field-focused role with a strong execution mindset. Regular presence at factories and rigorous follow-up are essential to success in the position.

Terms and conditions

The job is based in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India and is a full-time onsite position.
