About the Role

The People Ops Associate is the day-to-day operator behind Inspiren’s People function. This role is highly hands-on and focuses on the systems, processes, and coordination that keep the employee experience running smoothly, including HRIS administration, onboarding, benefits, and compliance.

Beyond execution, the role also calls for a strong improvement mindset. You’ll be expected to notice where work can be automated, where process gaps may appear, and where infrastructure can be built to scale beyond the current team setup.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage HRIS data accuracy, system setup, and reporting, and lead the upcoming HRIS implementation scheduled for May/June while keeping records clean and reliable.
  • Oversee the full onboarding process for new hires, including paperwork, system access, and equipment setup, with the goal of having every employee fully ready within 5 business days; handle offboarding with the same level of care.
  • Administer benefits and leave programs, including health coverage and 401(k), support enrollment, respond to employee questions, and keep tracking information current.
  • Maintain compliance tracking, employee files, and personnel records while staying aligned with federal and state regulatory requirements.
  • Support payroll operations by processing contractor hours every two weeks and assisting with payroll-related tasks when needed.
  • Look for repetitive or manual work that can be simplified, automated, or redesigned, and take the lead on improving those workflows.
  • Assist with performance cycle administration, including 30/60/90-day audits, Grow track management, and Lattice data upkeep.
  • Keep the People Ops Notion workspace accurate and up to date, and create FAQs and internal documentation that help the function scale.

Requirements

  • 2 to 4 years of experience in HR or People Operations within a startup or other fast-growing company.
  • Practical HRIS experience, including administration, data accuracy, and reporting, with exposure to tools such as Rippling, BambooHR, or Workday.
  • Strong interest in AI tools, along with a history of using new technology to improve speed and efficiency.
  • Experience with health benefits, 401(k), or open enrollment is preferred.
  • Knowledge of employment-law compliance at the federal and state level, plus familiarity with record keeping, is a plus.
  • Proven ability to spot opportunities for process improvement or workflow automation is advantageous.
  • This role is not suitable for candidates without prior HR or People Ops experience, those whose background is only in general business administration, those who have worked only in large enterprises or organizations with 500+ employees, or those without active interest in AI tools.

Additional Details

The annual compensation for this position is $90,000 to $110,000, plus equity and benefits such as medical, dental, and vision coverage. The role also includes flexible PTO. The position is remote within the US, with New York City preferred.
