Its services include interim HR leadership as well as focused project-based support, allowing clients to access senior expertise without hiring a full-time executive. Role Summary
Leath HR Group is looking for an experienced part-time HR Consultant to support clients in the Greater Richmond area. This position works alongside the Senior HR Consultant and Market Leader to deliver both strategic and hands-on HR assistance to small and mid-sized businesses.
What You’ll Do
- Support employee relations matters and help address workplace issues.
- Assist with HR compliance and ensure alignment with applicable employment rules.
- Participate in workplace investigations as needed.
- Draft and update policies and related HR documentation.
- Plan and deliver training sessions and facilitation support.
- Provide recruiting support for client hiring needs.
- Handle a variety of HR projects and fractional HR leadership work.
- Work with a mix of onsite client visits and remote engagement.
What the Role Requires
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Human Resources, Labor and Industrial Relations, Organizational Psychology, or a closely related discipline; a master’s degree is preferred.
- At least 15 years of progressive experience in human resources.
- A minimum of 5 years in a senior HR leadership or strategic HR position.
- SHRM-SCP or SPHR/PHR certification is preferred, with SHRM-SCP or SPHR especially valued.
- Solid understanding of federal and Virginia employment law.
- Experience supporting more than one organization or business setting is an advantage.
- Strong communication, consulting, and relationship-building abilities.
- Willingness to travel to client sites throughout the Greater Richmond region.
- Reliable transportation is required.
- Comfort working independently in a hybrid environment.
- Proficiency with HRIS platforms, Microsoft Office or comparable tools, and comfort in fast-moving, growth-focused settings.
