Role overview
Etqan Global Academy (EGA) in Doha, Qatar, is seeking an experienced MYP Coordinator to support the launch and continued growth of its International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme. In this role, you will help ensure the programme is delivered to a high standard, maintain IB compliance, support strong teaching practice, and promote excellent student outcomes.
Key duties
- Steer the planning, rollout, and ongoing review of the IB Middle Years Programme in alignment with IB standards and practices.
- Oversee IB authorisation, self-study, and evaluation activities, and serve as the main point of contact with the IB organisation.
- Coach and support MYP teachers in programme delivery, unit planning, and assessment approaches.
- Lead the Personal Project process, service as action, and ATL skill development across the MYP.
- Coordinate moderation and standardisation of MYP assessment across all subject groups.
- Manage preparation for eAssessment and submissions for external moderation.
- Organise MYP-focused staff professional development and encourage engagement with Nord Anglia University.
- Share clear updates on MYP expectations, progress, and outcomes with parents and the wider school community.
Candidate profile
The ideal applicant will bring a recognised teaching qualification, classroom experience in an IB MYP school, and strong working knowledge of MYP curriculum design, assessment criteria, eAssessment, and the Personal Project. Training from an IB MYP workshop at Category 1 or 2 level is required. Prior experience in an IB coordinator or curriculum leadership position is an advantage. You should also have strong organisational, communication, and coaching abilities, along with a clear commitment to safeguarding and student welfare. Experience in an international school, preferably in the Middle East, is preferred.
