Role overview

As a Cataloging Engineer, you will help maintain the quality, consistency, and completeness of master data within client SAP MDG environments. This role supports strong data governance practices and contributes to reliable business operations through structured cataloging processes.

Key responsibilities

• Build and apply cataloging approaches within SAP MDG to support accurate master data management.
• Review business needs and translate them into clear data standards and specifications.
• Maintain material master records, vendor master records, and other related master data entries.
• Use SAP MDG tools for validation, enrichment, and governance of data.
• Support data cleansing and data migration work when required; this experience is an added advantage.
• Work closely with teams across functions to keep information aligned and consistent.
• Prepare and update documentation for cataloging workflows and procedures, with particular attention to Saudi Aramco standards.
• Investigate and resolve issues connected to Spare Part Data Package (SPDP) data.
• Contribute to ongoing improvement efforts aimed at better data quality and operational efficiency.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 7 years of experience in data cataloging and master data management.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of SAP Master Data Governance (MDG).
• Ability to create and manage material master data, vendor master data, and similar master data objects.
• Exposure to data cleansing, data migration, and data validation methods is preferred.
• Good understanding of data governance principles and industry best practices.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
