Role Overview
This full-time, on-site Laborer position is based in Williams Lake, British Columbia, Canada. The person in this role will support construction operations by handling physical site tasks, helping tradespeople, and keeping the work area organized and safe. The job can include outdoor work in different weather conditions and requires steady attendance, a positive attitude, and readiness to take on new tasks as needed.
Key Duties
- Move, load, and unload construction materials and supplies.
- Assist with general site cleanup and maintaining an orderly work environment.
- Support trades workers with basic day-to-day tasks as directed.
- Use hand tools and power tools under supervision when required.
- Transport equipment and help prepare work areas for ongoing tasks.
- Follow directions from site supervisors and comply with all safety procedures.
- Wear and properly use required protective equipment.
- Help keep the site free from hazards and unsafe conditions.
- Perform physically demanding work such as lifting, carrying, bending, and standing for long periods.
- Adjust to changing priorities and task assignments throughout the workday.
Qualifications
- Comfort with physically demanding work, including lifting, carrying, bending, and extended standing.
- Basic awareness of construction tools and equipment, or a willingness to learn their correct use.
- Strong commitment to safety, including following instructions, using protective gear, and respecting site rules.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow directions from supervisors and tradespeople.
- Good communication and the ability to work cooperatively with a varied team.
- Prior experience in construction, landscaping, or general labor is helpful but not mandatory.
- A valid driver’s license and dependable transportation to the Williams Lake job site are preferred.
- Ability to work full-time and adapt to changing duties on site.
