Role Summary
Thélios is seeking an HR Generalist to partner with the team on people and operational priorities. This role supports the full scope of Human Resources, with a strong focus on HRIS, payroll, benefits administration, compensation, employee relations, talent acquisition and development, culture, and day-to-day HR operations. The position calls for someone who is highly analytical, organized, and comfortable working across systems, reporting, and employee-facing processes.
Key Responsibilities
The HR Generalist will manage a broad range of HR activities across payroll, compensation, systems, benefits, administration, culture, and compliance.
- Oversee payroll processing accurately and within required timelines, including more complex cases.
- Make sure PTO requests and employee time entries are reviewed and approved before each pay cycle.
- Prepare annual letters and notifications related to compensation changes, bonuses, and promotions.
- Take part in compensation surveys and review results to support internal compliance.
- Own HRIS data entry and help design or improve related processes.
- Process employee records for new hires, updates, additional pay items, and similar changes.
- Build and maintain reports, including monthly headcount reporting and annual group reports.
- Respond to benefit questions regarding plan details, enrollments, and employee status changes.
- Support the annual benefits review by analyzing plan choices and costs with benefit partners.
- Handle COBRA, HSA/FSA, transit benefits, and other manual benefit-related follow-up tasks.
- Assist with benefits invoicing and ensure HR-related bills are approved and paid.
- Serve as a primary contact for employee HR and benefits questions.
- Carry out administrative duties such as filing, recordkeeping, scheduling, reporting, collecting acknowledgements, and audit support.
- Help implement HR compliance activities, including labor law posters and policy updates.
- Address employee relations matters and keep the HR Director informed of updates.
- Manage the offboarding process, including exit meetings and related communications.
- Maintain the organizational chart on a monthly basis.
- Support Talent Acquisition with sourcing, scheduling, and interviewing for assigned openings when required.
- Conduct 30-, 60-, and 90-day new hire check-in meetings.
- Plan and coordinate employee engagement events with the HR Director and management.
- Contribute to the development of company culture initiatives as the organization grows.
- Support diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives and communications.
Required Profile
The ideal candidate brings at least 3 years of Human Resources experience and a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent background in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline. An HR certification is considered an advantage.
Success in this role requires strong writing and speaking skills, excellent attention to detail, and strong problem-solving ability. The person should be able to build trusted relationships, support employees, and represent Thélios professionally. Discretion, professionalism, tact, diplomacy, autonomy, and confidentiality are essential. A genuine commitment to diversity and inclusion is important, along with an adaptable, analytical, and approachable working style. Strong Microsoft Office skills and a collaborative, positive attitude are also needed.
Additional Information
This position is based in the New York City Metropolitan Area and is a full-time, onsite role.
The hiring range for this position is $70,000 to $85,000 per year. Final compensation will depend on the candidate’s relevant experience and skills.
