About Mary Café
Mary Café is a refined café concept in Doha, operated by Wahat Bin Jfin Trading W.L.L. It blends European-inspired elegance with the city’s contemporary urban character. The brand operates in Msheireb Downtown and on Gewan Island, serving artisanal breakfasts, premium desserts, and specialty coffee in a thoughtfully designed setting.
The café places strong emphasis on quality, classic aesthetics, and memorable guest experiences. Team members are expected to contribute to a polished hospitality environment where service standards and attention to detail shape everyday work.
Role Overview
This full-time, on-site position is based in Doha, Qatar. The Hostess & Guest Relations team member is the first point of contact for visitors and is responsible for creating a smooth and welcoming guest journey from entry to departure.
Key Duties
The role includes greeting guests with warmth, organizing reservations and seating, and keeping the waiting list under control to maintain an efficient service flow. The host is expected to work closely with the service team, respond to guest questions politely, and support booking management by phone and in person.
Additional responsibilities include presenting menus, introducing guests to the café’s offerings, resolving concerns or feedback quickly, and helping maintain the atmosphere of the venue. The host stand and entrance area should remain neat, orderly, and aligned with the café’s brand image at all times.
Qualifications
Success in this role requires a strong background in guest service, hospitality, and creating a respectful, welcoming environment for a diverse clientele. Clear spoken English is important, and knowledge of Arabic or another language is considered an advantage.
Applicants should be well organized, able to manage time effectively, and comfortable handling seating plans and reservation flow during busy periods. A polished appearance, close attention to detail, and a composed, professional manner are essential in a fast-paced setting.
Experience in cafés, restaurants, or high-end hospitality is preferred. Familiarity with point-of-sale or reservation tools is helpful. Candidates must be willing to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays, and be able to remain on their feet for long periods.
Reliability, teamwork, and a proactive approach to solving guest concerns are important. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, while hospitality training or certification is an added plus.
