Role Overview
This contract position is fully remote and focuses on applying geospatial expertise to support the development of advanced AI systems. The work involves contributing high-quality domain input that helps improve how models learn, reason, and perform. Previous AI experience is not necessary; deep knowledge of geospatial work is the key requirement.
Core Responsibilities
- Build, organize, and upkeep spatial databases while preserving data accuracy and consistency across assignments.
- Carry out advanced geoprocessing and spatial modeling in QGIS, then translate findings into practical recommendations.
- Create, adapt, and support QGIS plugins and extensions based on project needs.
- Use Python, including PyQGIS, to automate geospatial workflows and make analysis more efficient and repeatable.
- Produce polished maps and visual outputs for reports, presentations, and decision-making support.
- Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to interpret requirements and convert them into geospatial solutions.
- Explain technical geospatial concepts clearly in both written and spoken communication for technical and non-technical audiences.
Required Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience with QGIS, including spatial database handling, geoprocessing, and map creation.
- Proficiency in Python with practical use of PyQGIS for workflow automation.
- Solid understanding of coordinate reference systems, projections, and spatial data transformation.
- Experience customizing QGIS through scripting or plugin development.
- Excellent communication skills for presenting technical information to varied audiences.
- Ability to create professional cartographic deliverables suited to different decision-making contexts.
- Strong organization and attention to detail when juggling multiple priorities.
