General Maintenance Operative

Aramark Property is hiring a General Maintenance Operative to join its maintenance team in Dublin. In this position, you will report to the maintenance team manager and carry out day-to-day maintenance work across the company’s client properties. You’ll receive a daily list of jobs and tickets to complete, so the role requires strong self-management, the ability to work independently and collaboratively, and flexibility to move between different sites and property types.

The role calls for careful preparation before starting each task, including making sure the right materials and supplies are ready in advance. Strong punctuality, organisation, and a practical approach to resolving issues on site are important.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out a range of maintenance and repair work indoors and outdoors across assigned properties, including plumbing, plastering, carpentry, groundworks, and painting.
• Maintain a consistent quality of work and keep all logs, records, and supporting documentation accurate and up to date.
• Use initiative and sound judgement to solve day-to-day site issues with minimal supervision.
• Keep in regular contact with Property Managers and, where needed, coordinate with other workers and professionals involved in the work.
• Operate company vehicles responsibly and in line with safe driving expectations.
• Ensure all hand and power tools are used in compliance with health and safety requirements and are stored neatly and securely.
• Remain alert to health, safety, and welfare risks on site and report concerns promptly to management or the Health and Safety representative.

Qualifications and requirements

• A valid Safe Pass is required.
• A full, clean Irish or EU driving licence is required.
• Practical trade experience in areas such as carpentry, bricklaying, groundworks, plastering, minor plumbing, or minor electrical repair is needed.
• Experience with hand tools is necessary.
• You should have strong troubleshooting ability and good fault-finding skills.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals and drawings is required.

Preferred background

• Previous experience in property management, facilities management, healthcare, education, or corporate environments would be an advantage.
• Holding Manual Handling, Working at Height, and Confined Space certifications would be beneficial.
