About the Role

CBRE’s Global Workplace Solutions (GWS) Local team delivers tailored hard-services facility management by handling core services in-house and coordinating with trusted soft-service partners. The team is built around strong downstream accountability, helping create a responsive and efficient service experience for clients. The platform also provides access to specialized services such as ESG support, security consulting, workplace strategy, and workplace experience.

As a General Maintainer, you will help keep small to medium-sized buildings, systems, and equipment in good working order. This role sits within Engineering and Technical Services, with a focus on preventive care, basic repairs, and reliable support for day-to-day building operations.

Key Duties

  • Carry out light maintenance and upkeep tasks such as sweeping, general cleaning, painting, patching, garbage removal, and snow clearing.
  • Complete routine preventive and demand-based maintenance activities, including recording service history when needed.
  • Handle basic upkeep of doors and windows, including related hardware.
  • Replace lamps and lighting components as required.
  • Maintain building signage.
  • Perform filter replacements.
  • Check and repair interior and exterior areas such as walls and sidewalks.
  • Repair and maintain concrete, precast, and cement surfaces.
  • Inspect roofs for debris and report any damage found.
  • Patch drywall and replace damaged floor or wall tiles.
  • Support trades staff with light maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment when needed.
  • Escalate unusual incidents, safety concerns, or abnormal conditions to a supervisor.
  • Respond to basic tenant requests and emergency situations.
  • Address comfort- or environment-related complaints when required.
  • Monitor contractors and outside service providers to ensure they follow contract terms and company or industry standards.
  • Contribute to the review of operating standards and related policies and procedures as needed.
  • Work in line with occupational health and safety requirements and all other applicable codes.
