Role overview

This temporary onsite position is for a dependable and experienced gateman to support a busy new-build housing project in Whalley. The role is central to keeping the entrance controlled, the site secure, and daily traffic running smoothly.

Key duties

• Manage entry and exit for vehicles, workers, deliveries, and visitors.
• Record delivery arrivals and direct unloading to the correct locations.
• Coordinate traffic movement safely around the site.
• Protect site security at the gate and monitor access.
• Register visitors according to site procedures.
• Work closely with site leadership and trade teams.
• Keep the gate area neat, orderly, and clear.
• Follow all health and safety rules and site controls at all times.

What the employer is looking for

• Previous hands-on experience as a gateman or traffic marshal on construction sites.
• A valid CSCS card is required.
• A Traffic Marshal or Banksman qualification is an advantage, though not mandatory.
• Good spoken communication and coordination skills.
• A dependable, punctual person who can work with minimal supervision.
• Strong awareness of site safety practices and standards.
