Overview
Mindrift is seeking experienced Full-Stack Web App Developers with strong JavaScript/TypeScript skills and either Python or Node.js experience to contribute to the Tendem project. The work focuses on creating browser-based applications in a hybrid AI plus human setup. In this role, you will act as an AI Pilot, partnering with Tendem Agents that take care of repetitive work while you bring full-stack engineering knowledge, architectural thinking, and quality assurance to produce reliable, user-ready web applications.
This is a part-time freelance remote opportunity suited to professionals who can build modern web products end to end, including frontend interfaces, backend APIs, databases, and interactive user flows.
About the Platform
The Mindrift platform brings subject-matter experts into AI-driven initiatives led by major technology innovators. Its purpose is to help advance Generative AI by connecting projects with practical expertise from around the world.
Role Details
As a Full-Stack Web App Developer on the Tendem project, you will design, develop, and refine browser-based applications with real functionality, including state handling, data persistence, and user interaction. Example products may include habit trackers, budgeting tools, internal dashboards, small SaaS-style tools, and AI-assisted applications. You may also be asked to create standalone Python utilities or data-processing scripts that support these products.
Responsibilities
- Create interactive web applications using a frontend framework such as React, Next.js, Vue, or a similar modern stack, together with a backend API built in Python or Node.js.
- Plan and implement data structures, database schemas, and persistence layers using SQL or NoSQL technologies.
- Set up authentication, session handling, and basic role-based permissions when the product requires them.
- Connect third-party APIs and AI/LLM services into application features.
- Manage user input, state transitions, validation, error handling, and loading experiences in a clean way.
- Develop standalone Python scripts and lightweight tooling where project tasks call for them, including data processing and API integrations.
- Review AI-generated full-stack code and improve it for accuracy, security, speed, and long-term maintainability.
- Write maintainable, testable code and troubleshoot issues that span the frontend, backend, and database layers.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in full-stack web development or in delivering interactive web applications.
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or another related technical field is considered an advantage.
- Strong overall capability in full-stack development, modern frontend frameworks, backend architecture, and end-to-end browser application delivery.
- Ability to work confidently across frontend, backend, databases, and APIs, while designing dependable application logic and improving AI-assisted output into production-ready solutions.
- Excellent problem-solving ability, strong attention to detail, and the capacity to independently design and deliver complete features.
- Solid command of JavaScript/TypeScript and at least one current frontend framework such as React, Next.js, Vue, Svelte, or similar.
- Practical backend experience with Python frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django, and/or Node.js frameworks such as Express or NestJS.
- Hands-on experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQLite, including basic schema design.
- Experience building REST APIs, request validation, authentication flows, and error handling.
- Comfort using deployment platforms such as Vercel, Netlify, Render, Fly.io, Railway, or similar services.
- Exposure to LLM APIs or other AI services is a strong advantage.
- Comfortable working with Git and basic testing practices.
- Strong commitment to shipping real, functional products rather than prototypes or demos.
- Self-driven working style with the ability to architect, build, and launch features independently.
- A portfolio of shipped web applications is required.
- English proficiency at upper-intermediate level (B2) or higher is required.
Workload and Compensation
During active project periods, the expected workload is approximately 10 to 20 hours per week. This is an estimate rather than a guaranteed number of hours, and it applies only while the project is active.
Compensation can reach up to the equivalent of USD 60 per hour, depending on your level and pace of contribution. Pay may vary across different projects based on scope, complexity, and the expertise needed.
Why This Opportunity May Be a Good Fit
- Work remotely on a schedule that suits you, using only a laptop and stable internet access.
- Gain practical exposure to a distinctive hybrid environment where human expertise and AI agents work together.
- Be eligible for performance-based bonus programs that recognize consistent, high-quality delivery.
Additional Information
This is a freelance assignment for a Tendem project. The role is part-time and remote. The work is expected to involve hands-on technical contribution, independent decision-making, and the ability to turn AI-assisted outputs into reliable, production-ready applications.
