Role Summary
The Finance Manager for the holding company will oversee the complete accounting framework across several group entities. This position is focused on accurate reporting, IFRS compliance, consolidation, intercompany accounting, robust controls, and effective governance. The role partners with auditors, tax consultants, and senior leadership to strengthen financial performance and support informed business decisions.
Education and Professional Background
- A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field is required.
- A professional accounting qualification such as CA or ACCA is strongly preferred.
- Applicants should bring 8–12+ years of progressive experience in finance and accounting.
- At least 2–3 years of experience in a managerial position leading an accounting team is expected.
- Prior experience in a holding company, group environment, or multi-entity structure is mandatory.
- Hands-on exposure to full-cycle accounting is required, including general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, fixed assets, and treasury coordination.
- Experience owning year-end close activities and audit processes is essential.
- Direct interaction with external auditors and handling complex accounting matters is required.
- Experience in Qatar or the wider GCC region would be an advantage.
Technical Knowledge
- Strong practical knowledge of IFRS is required.
- Experience with group consolidation and intercompany eliminations is needed.
- Working knowledge of accounting for subsidiaries, joint ventures, and associates is important.
- Understanding of IFRS 16, IAS 36, IAS 37, and IFRS 15 is expected.
- Familiarity with VAT, withholding tax, and corporate tax compliance is required.
- Knowledge of internal controls, financial governance frameworks, group accounting policies, and chart of accounts structures is important.
- Experience with ERP configuration in a multi-entity setup is needed.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead accounting operations across all entities within the holding structure.
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities.
- Review and authorize journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements.
- Ensure all reporting is accurate and aligned with IFRS requirements.
- Take ownership of the year-end audit cycle, including statutory financial preparation, auditor coordination, and follow-up on audit observations.
- Strengthen group accounting policies and internal control processes.
- Oversee fixed asset registers, lease accounting schedules, and provision calculations.
- Handle intercompany transactions and balance reconciliations.
- Coach, guide, and build the capability of the finance team.
- Work with tax advisors to address compliance obligations.
- Support the Finance Director on technical accounting matters and strategic initiatives.
