About the Venue

Temple Gardens Centre in Moose Jaw is one of southern Saskatchewan’s leading event spaces. The venue offers 210,000 square feet of flexible space for recreation and entertainment, including a 4,500-seat arena, an eight-sheet curling rink with a two-level lounge overlooking the ice, and meeting and conference facilities.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Operations Manager or an assigned delegate, the Facility Operator will support a wide range of venue functions. The role includes ice installation and preparation, event setup and teardown, housekeeping, preventive maintenance, emergency response, and routine day-to-day operations. A strong team mindset and a consistently high standard of customer service are essential.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers CAD 20.00 to CAD 22.00 per hour. Full-time employees are eligible for health, dental, and vision coverage, pension matching, and paid time off that includes vacation, sick leave, and statutory holidays.

Responsibilities

• Support arena ice installation, removal, and ongoing daily or weekly maintenance, including hockey ice resurfacing as needed; the resurfacing schedule may vary from one day to the next.
• Operate and understand venue equipment such as staging, audiovisual and lighting systems, hand tools, pallet jacks, forklifts, ice resurfacers, edgers, and related equipment.
• Help prepare events by setting up and taking down stages, tables, chairs, AV equipment, and meeting room spaces as required.
• Assist with setup and teardown for main tenant games and events.
• Respond quickly to emergencies such as fire, evacuation, equipment breakdowns, and customer issues.
• Show strong attention to detail in daily work.
• Deliver outstanding service to clients and fans.
• Carry out other duties as assigned.
• Perform upkeep tasks such as painting, drywall patching, exterior sidewalk maintenance, snow and ice clearing, parking lot and grounds care, and other facility work.
• Complete cleaning tasks to meet sanitation standards across bathrooms, bowl seating, common areas, dressing rooms, hockey benches, meeting rooms, and similar spaces.

Requirements

• At least one year of experience cleaning a business facility is preferred.
• Ability to lift heavy items and work at heights, including climbing ladders when needed.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule that may include early mornings, daytime shifts, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays.
• Comfort working independently with limited supervision.
• Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage several tasks at once.
• Demonstrated track record of strong internal and external customer service.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
