Environmental Services Aide, Full Time, 1st Shift

Role Overview

The Environmental Services Aide is responsible for keeping hospital spaces clean, sanitary, and orderly. This includes dusting and polishing furniture, disinfecting both patient-care and non-patient-care areas, handling refuse and hazardous waste, moving furniture and equipment as needed, and replenishing supplies throughout the facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out assigned duties in line with departmental standards and instructions.
• Apply the 7-step cleaning process consistently and achieve at least an 85% score on inspections.
• Use AIDET customer service practices regularly when speaking with patients and visitors.
• Ensure cleaned rooms are tidy, organized, and ready for patient use.
• Store cleaning products and equipment safely whenever they are left unattended.
• Prepare and handle chemical mixtures according to the correct guidelines.
• Follow universal precautions and infection control procedures at all times.
• Take on additional duties whenever required.

Education and Experience

No formal education is required, though a high school diploma or GED is recommended. Prior experience is not necessary, but experience in clinical or healthcare cleaning is preferred.
