Role overview
An expanding eCommerce business is seeking a Category Manager to lead one of its commercial categories. The role calls for a mix of trading mindset, market awareness, data interpretation, and vendor negotiation experience in an online retail setting.
Key responsibilities
- Shape and execute the category roadmap so it supports wider company objectives.
- Take ownership of category performance across revenue, margin, and sell-through.
- Build seasonal and annual buying plans using market trends, customer insight, and performance results.
- Bring new brands into the business from international markets.
- Review daily, weekly, and monthly KPIs such as GMV, margin, conversion rate, average order value, sell-through, and returns.
- Study shopper behavior, market movements, and competitor performance to guide decisions.
- Spot weak-performing SKUs and drive action plans to improve results.
- Keep abreast of both global and regional trend shifts.
- Track competitor ranges, pricing moves, and promotional campaigns.
- Use customer feedback and analytics to continually improve category direction.
