Overview
KULIN is hiring a Digital Designer for a 9-month contract, with the possibility of the assignment being extended. This role suits a designer who enjoys a fast-moving digital production environment and has a background in building effective creative for DTC, ecommerce, retail, and consumer-focused brands.
In this position, you will help produce polished digital assets across paid social, ecommerce, email, landing pages, digital campaigns, and other marketing touchpoints. You will work closely with the Creative Director, strategists, account managers, designers, and clients to turn marketing goals and creative ideas into compelling digital experiences that support performance.
The ideal candidate brings a strong sense of visual design, typography, layout, composition, and digital storytelling, along with an understanding of how creative performs across modern social and digital channels. Experience with motion design and animation is a significant advantage. A portfolio is required for consideration.
Role Summary
As a Digital Designer, you will develop digital creative from initial concept through final delivery for a range of ecommerce brands. You will collaborate with strategists, marketers, and other creatives to create work that is visually strong and aligned with business results.
Your work will span paid social ads, ecommerce websites, email marketing, landing pages, digital campaigns, and brand initiatives. The role calls for someone who understands platform-specific best practices, user behaviour, and performance marketing while still maintaining high creative standards.
You will also contribute to idea generation, support the wider creative team, and stay informed about evolving design trends, AI tools, and emerging digital experiences.
Responsibilities
- Create polished digital creative for paid social, ecommerce, email, websites, landing pages, and broader digital campaigns.
- Turn creative briefs and marketing objectives into engaging visual assets.
- Develop static and digital ad creative for Meta, TikTok, YouTube, Google, and similar platforms.
- Produce social content, display ads, email graphics, website banners, landing pages, presentations, and other marketing materials.
- Partner with creative strategists and marketing teams to build creative concepts that are designed to perform well.
- Keep brand identity consistent while adapting work for different audiences, channels, and campaign goals.
- Build reusable design systems and templates that support efficiency and consistency in production.
- Collaborate with copywriters, motion designers, and video editors to deliver integrated cross-channel campaigns.
- Join brainstorming sessions and contribute fresh ideas and visual directions.
- Review feedback quickly while handling several projects and deadlines at once.
- Keep up with trends in digital design, ecommerce, social media, AI-assisted creative tools, and performance marketing.
Requirements
- At least 3 to 5 years of professional experience in graphic design.
- Prior exposure to a DTC ecommerce, retail, consumer brand, or agency setting is preferred.
- A portfolio that demonstrates digital design, paid social creative, branding, and campaign work.
- Strong conceptual ability with experience taking ideas from strategy through to final execution.
- Excellent command of typography, layout, hierarchy, composition, and visual storytelling, plus a solid grasp of digital design and performance creative best practices.
- Ability to create visually strong work while keeping business goals and conversion outcomes in mind.
- Proficiency in Figma and the Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and some After Effects/Premiere.
- Comfort working across multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with creative, client-facing, and cross-functional teams.
- Willingness to take feedback, refine work quickly, and adjust to changing priorities.
- Motion design experience is strongly encouraged.
- Experience with After Effects and motion graphics workflows is an asset.
- Ability to create animated social ads, kinetic typography, and motion assets for digital campaigns is an asset.
- Experience designing social-first creative for Meta, TikTok, YouTube, and other digital platforms is an asset.
- Premiere Pro or other video editing experience is an asset.
- Exposure to UGC, influencer marketing, and performance creative is an asset.
- Familiarity with AI-powered creative and design tools that improve ideation and production is an asset.
- Basic understanding of UX/UI principles and responsive digital design is an asset.
Contract Details
This is a 9-month contract role with the potential for extension. The position offers the chance to work on a wide variety of creative projects for leading ecommerce and consumer brands.
The work arrangement is remote with flexibility, and access to the Toronto office space is also available.
