Role Summary

In this full-time, on-site position in Accra, the Dentist will handle end-to-end dental care. The role involves assessing patients, making diagnoses, planning treatment, and carrying out preventive, restorative, and cosmetic procedures. The dentist will also guide patients on oral health, explain treatment choices, secure informed consent, and keep complete clinical records. Day-to-day work will include coordination with dental assistants, hygienists, and administrative colleagues to support smooth clinic operations and a high standard of patient care.

Clinical Duties

• Conduct dental examinations and evaluate oral health conditions.
• Develop accurate diagnoses and appropriate treatment plans.
• Carry out fillings, tooth extractions, root canal therapy, crowns, bridges, and periodontal treatments as needed.
• Provide preventive, restorative, and cosmetic dental services within scope.
• Explain oral hygiene practices and available treatment options to patients.
• Obtain informed consent before procedures and maintain detailed clinical documentation.
• Work with the wider clinic team to improve efficiency and patient experience.

Professional Requirements

• Hold a recognized dental qualification such as DDS, DMD, or an equivalent degree.
• Be licensed to practice dentistry, or eligible for licensure, in the applicable jurisdiction.
• Have sound knowledge of core clinical dentistry, including treatment planning, restorative care, endodontics, basic oral surgery, and periodontal treatment.
• Demonstrate strong communication, empathy, and cultural awareness when dealing with patients.
• Follow infection control protocols, clinical safety practices, and proper record-keeping standards.
• Be able to function well in a multidisciplinary team and manage time effectively in a busy clinic.
• Show interest in continuous learning and staying updated on new dental materials, technologies, and best practices.
• Prior experience in a dental clinic or hospital setting is preferred; experience with digital dental systems and radiography is an added advantage.
