Crewing Officer

Role Overview

GAC Marine is looking for a Crewing Officer to join its Abu Dhabi team. The position focuses on managing vessel crew movements, keeping crew records accurate, supporting payroll activities, and ensuring day-to-day crewing work is completed efficiently and in line with client and regulatory expectations.

Key Duties

• Plan, coordinate, and carry out crew rotations for assigned vessels so manning levels stay efficient, schedules remain on track, and vessel assignments meet client-specific requirements.
• Make sure crew mobilization happens on time to protect operating schedules and reduce the risk of seafarers exceeding their contractual sea-service limits.
• Maintain crew records carefully in both physical files and the digital crewing system, ensuring all required documents are current and valid before mobilization.
• Prepare the monthly crew payroll register on time, including reimbursements, while minimizing delays, arrears, and payment mismatches.
• Control travel, visa, medical, and related logistics costs without compromising compliance or service quality.
• Work closely with vessel sea staff and internal departments to keep communication open, transparent, and supportive across the organization.
• Handle invoice reviews and other crew-related ad hoc tasks as required.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree is required; an equivalent mix of education and relevant experience may also be acceptable.
• Formal preparation in crew management or completion of relevant management courses is preferred.
• Strong understanding of maritime rules and standards, especially MLC 2006 and STCW.
• At least 2 years of experience in a crewing assistant position within the maritime sector.
• Comfortable using MS Office applications.
