Role overview
Kota is building modern insurance and retirement benefit products for today’s workforce. The company offers two core solutions: Kota Platform, a fully integrated benefits platform, and Kota Embed, an embedded insurance product designed to make benefits easier to access, more valuable, and available across markets.
The business supports benefits for tens of thousands of employees at leading European companies and has been backed by investors such as EQT Ventures, Eurazeo, Northzone, and Frontline, along with senior leaders from companies including Workday, Remote, Personio, and OpenAI.
This opening is for a Compliance Operations Associate within the Operations team. The role focuses on first-line compliance work, including customer onboarding, screening, and transaction monitoring. As the company scales and onboards a growing number of businesses and individuals, this person will help design and improve the processes needed to meet regulatory expectations and partner requirements efficiently.
The position is full-time and permanent. It is remote-first, with a working range of approximately +/- 2 hours from GMT/BST. Hybrid working is available for candidates based in Ireland or London. The role reports to the COO.
What you will do
- Take ownership of customer onboarding and screening, including due diligence for both businesses and individuals across multiple regulated entities.
- Help establish transaction monitoring processes as payment volumes and customer journeys expand, while keeping controls strong.
- Create, refine, and maintain standard operating procedures for KYC, transaction monitoring, and screening so they align with regulatory obligations and the company’s risk position.
- Work closely with the second line of defence on investigations, escalation handling, and regulatory reporting.
- Assist with compliance audits by explaining internal processes and preparing the documentation and evidence needed for strong audit outcomes.
- Improve operational efficiency by reviewing workflows, spotting automation opportunities, and partnering with product and engineering teams to implement changes.
What we are looking for
- At least 4 years of experience in KYC or onboarding operations within a fintech or insurtech environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify and escalate potential risks or unusual activity.
- A builder mindset, with the confidence to create and improve compliance operations processes.
- Comfort working with larger datasets and using data to generate practical insights.
- Strong written communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders.
- Experience thriving in fast-moving environments where processes may still be evolving.
- A proactive approach with a strong bias toward execution and follow-through.
- A customer-focused outlook, with an understanding that customer outcomes should remain central to the work.
Values
- Integrity: act with a strong sense of purpose and protect how work is done as well as why it is done.
- Deep care: pay close attention to detail and go beyond expectations to create great customer experiences.
- Ownership: ask questions, do the work, use the data, and take responsibility for solving problems.
- High standards: continuously push for better outcomes, faster progress, and stronger performance.
- Winning mindset: challenge the status quo and work with intent every day.
Benefits
- Health insurance through Kota with a generous allowance.
