About the Role

Waad Academy Schools is looking for a dedicated and skilled Career Counselor to join our educational team. This role is pivotal in supporting students as they navigate their academic paths and discover potential career futures. The counselor will collaborate with students, educators, and parents to offer thorough career advice and assistance.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct one-on-one and group counseling sessions to help students pinpoint their interests, talents, and professional ambitions.
• Design and implement career-focused programs, workshops, and events to educate students on diverse career fields and their prerequisites.
• Aid students in their applications to colleges and universities, including guidance on scholarships and crafting effective resumes.
• Facilitate connections for students with internships, job shadowing experiences, and mentorship opportunities.
• Administer career assessments and lead discussions about career decisions, interests, and objectives.
• Work alongside teachers and staff to embed career education within the existing academic curriculum.
• Cultivate and maintain connections with local businesses, higher education institutions, and other organizations to enhance student opportunities and engagement.

Requirements

• Possess a Bachelor's degree in Career Counseling, Psychology, Education, or a closely related discipline.
• Accumulate at least 2 to 3 years of professional experience in career counseling or guidance, ideally within an academic environment.
• Demonstrate a solid understanding of various career trajectories, the procedures for college admissions, and essential skills for workplace readiness.
• Exhibit strong interpersonal abilities, enabling effective rapport-building with students from varied backgrounds.
• Showcase excellent communication and organizational capabilities, adept at managing program logistics and delivering clear advice.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of labor market dynamics and evolving educational routes pertinent to student career planning.

This is a full-time, onsite position located in Jiddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia.
