Basing Team Officer Assistant

Overview

GovCIO is looking for a Basing Team Officer Assistant to support the Director of Operations (J-4) in leading U.S. engineering and basing activities. The role is based in Doha, Qatar and supports the CENTCOM AOR.

Role Summary

This position works alongside the J-4 on the planning, coordination, execution, and oversight of base transitions, infrastructure programs, environmental compliance, and real estate matters. It also contributes to basing operations, future planning for base closure, transfer, and growth efforts, and the management of equipment, facilities, contracts, and final site turnover requirements.

Responsibilities

The assistant will help coordinate and monitor U.S. base transition efforts and related engineering initiatives. The role also involves working with other agencies, supporting basing plans and oversight, helping develop future execution plans, tracking key metrics and CCIRs, preparing SOPs, reports, and executive-level briefings, and supporting campaign-plan objectives assigned by the COR.

• Support the J-4 in overseeing engineering and basing programs.
• Help coordinate base transitions, infrastructure projects, environmental compliance, and real estate activities.
• Work with other agencies and engineering teams to align efforts.
• Assist with basing operations, oversight, and future planning for closures, transfers, and expansion.
• Help ensure statutory obligations are met for equipment, facilities, environmental items, contracts, and site handover.
• Coordinate engineering deconstruction activities.
• Develop and monitor critical metrics and CCIRs.
• Contribute to SOPs, reports, and briefings for senior leadership.
• Support delivery of campaign-plan goals as directed by the COR.

Requirements

• Secret clearance is required.
• High school diploma with 8 to 12 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Military logistics background in the U.S. Army, Air Force, or Marines, with experience at CW3 or above, or O3 or above.
• At least 10 years of contract or program management experience with a solid understanding of how the Department of Defense awards and manages construction and service contracts.
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing requirements, unexpected issues, and difficult operational conditions.
• Strong capability to manage resources in time-sensitive situations.
• Must be able to drive a leased vehicle while traveling.
• Preferred: experience supporting U.S. Military Special Operations.

Salary range advertised: USD 120,000 to USD 124,000 per year.
