AutoCAD Drafter

About the Role

Morris Engineering Group, Inc. is looking for an experienced AutoCAD Drafter to support a range of engineering and design projects. The role involves creating single-line drawings, schematics, and related drafting documentation for boat harbors, marine facilities, airports, schools, commercial buildings, and utility facilities.

You will prepare drawings from engineers’ and designers’ redline markups, engineering sketches, catalog cut sheets, and other design materials. The work requires consistent compliance with project-specific and industry standards to ensure a high level of drafting quality.

Employment Details

The position is scheduled to begin immediately. Compensation will be determined based on experience.

Required Qualifications

• Strong eye for detail and accuracy
• Ability to perform well under pressure and meet deadlines
• Positive, proactive approach with a willingness to learn and take on challenging work
• Solid working knowledge of AutoCAD

Preferred Background

• Associate degree in Drafting Technology, a related field, or equivalent formal certification
• At least 2 years of drafting experience in an architectural or engineering environment

About the Company

Morris Engineering Group, Inc. is a consulting electrical engineering firm based in Juneau, Alaska. The team includes five engineers, two AutoCAD drafter/designers, an office manager, and a bookkeeper. The company is expanding and is seeking someone interested in building a long-term career as a drafter in consulting engineering.
