Accountant

Role overview

We are looking for an Accountant to join the team in Doha, Qatar. This full-time on-site role focuses on core accounting, financial analysis, budgeting support, forecasting, and helping the business make informed decisions through accurate reporting and insights.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis, then analyze the results.
• Track cash flow, build forecasts, and support planning for future financial needs.
• Compile, review, and interpret profit and loss reports.
• Support management with budgets, financial planning, and cost-control actions.
• Assist with sales forecasting and provide financial inputs that support business decisions.
• Carry out variance analysis and highlight opportunities to reduce costs.
• Record financial transactions accurately and complete account reconciliations.
• Monitor inventory accounting, food cost analysis, and operating expenses.
• Help develop financial models and business performance reports.
• Support audits and help ensure compliance with legal, tax, and regulatory obligations.
• Work closely with operations and management to strengthen financial performance.
• Maintain effective internal controls and suggest process improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline is required.
• At least 5 years of accounting experience, ideally in the Food & Beverage sector.
• Professional certifications such as CMA, ACCA, CPA, or similar qualifications are strongly preferred.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal control practices.
• Strong command of Excel and accounting or ERP software.
• Good analytical thinking, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Candidates already based in Qatar are preferred.
• Additional preferred experience includes multi-outlet restaurants, cafés, catering, or hospitality operations.
• Knowledge of inventory control and food cost management is an advantage.
• Ability to turn financial data into practical business recommendations.
• Proven background in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• High attention to detail and the ability to work to deadlines in a busy environment.
• Strong stakeholder management and business partnering skills.
