Role Overview
Spinifex Brewing Co is seeking a Venue Manager for its Cable Beach venue in Broome, Western Australia. The business is in a rebuilding and growth phase, with a strong emphasis on community, culture, hospitality, and memorable guest experiences. This role is intended for a hands-on leader who can help guide the venue through its next stage of development.
The position is about more than keeping service running smoothly. It involves helping create a venue that local people are proud of, visitors remember, and staff genuinely want to work in. The ideal candidate will understand the Broome market, value community connection, and foster a positive, high-performing team culture built on accountability, teamwork, and great hospitality.

About the Venue
Spinifex Cable Beach is positioned as more than a brewery venue. It operates as a hospitality and tourism destination built around great beer with a distinctive story, Western Australian produce, community partnerships, sustainability, innovation, and Kimberley hospitality and tourism.
The venue is being reshaped with a strong focus on customer experience, clear product knowledge, one-team culture, events and activations, community connection, consistency, professionalism, and the Spinifex brand.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the venue’s daily operations and ensure service runs effectively.
- Develop and maintain a strong, positive, and accountable team environment.
- Deliver excellent guest experiences and consistently high service standards.
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and staff development.
- Plan and manage rosters, labour deployment, and operational standards.
- Work closely with Head Office, Brewery, and Sales teams to support business goals.
- Represent the brand positively as a proactive ambassador.
- Contribute to events, tourism activity, and local partnerships.
- Maintain compliance, safety, and operational consistency across the venue.
- Ensure the venue reflects the Spinifex brand and its values in day-to-day operations.
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of experience in hospitality leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to manage people effectively.
- Strong commitment to high standards and close attention to detail.
- Ability to remain effective in a busy, high-pressure peak season environment.
- Clear communication and strong organisational skills.
- Genuine interest in tourism, hospitality, and community engagement.
- Solutions-oriented approach and willingness to take initiative.
- RSA Approved Manager certification is required.
- Experience in regional or remote hospitality settings will be viewed favourably.
- Venue management experience covering day-to-day operations, staff oversight, and compliance.
- Strong customer service capability and the ability to respond to a wide range of guest needs.
- Budgeting and cost-control experience, including expense management, forecasting, and reporting.
- Event planning and delivery experience for functions and special events.
- Leadership background in hospitality, bars, or restaurants.
- Working knowledge of licensing requirements, HACCP, and health and safety regulations in Western Australia.
- Ability to stay composed under pressure and solve problems effectively.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as needed.
- Familiarity with POS and reservation systems.
