Role overview
This is a permanent full-time van driving position based in Ashton-under-Lyne (OL7 0AX). The role involves UK-wide deliveries in a 3.5-ton Bedford van equipped with a tail lift. The salary is £26,780 per year.
Working pattern
Shifts run Monday to Friday, with start times at either 06:00 or 07:00 and finishing when the route is complete. Flexibility is essential, as the working day may extend to as long as 12 hours depending on the drop locations. Overtime is paid at 1.5x after 8 hours.
What the job involves
- Transporting palletised customer goods to locations across the UK.
- Using the tail-lift van safely and efficiently during deliveries.
- Communicating with customers at delivery points and delivering a professional service.
- Following health and safety rules, road safety requirements, the Highway Code, and vehicle regulations at all times.
- Carrying out routine vehicle inspections before and during use.
- Handling customer products manually where needed.
