Arnold Clark is hiring an energetic, driven Valeter for its Bolton Motorstore. The role suits someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in presentation, and works well as part of a team.

Working hours
This is a full-time onsite role. Standard hours are Monday to Thursday, 8:00 am to 5:30 pm; Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm; and alternate Saturdays, 8:00 am to 12:00 pm.
About the position
The Valeter will be responsible for keeping sold and stock vehicles in excellent visual condition. This is a physically active role that requires careful attention to detail, good organisation, and a positive team mindset.
Key duties
- Prepare sold and stock vehicles to a high presentation standard
- Wash vehicle exteriors using a high-pressure washer
- Vacuum and shampoo vehicle interiors with specialist equipment
- Use polishing and buffing tools to improve the finish of the bodywork
- Follow health and safety rules when handling chemicals
- Keep tools and machinery in safe working order, report faults promptly, and follow manufacturer guidance and PPE requirements
- Work within set deadlines and performance targets
- Use an online diary system to coordinate vehicle bookings
- Maintain a daily log of completed work
- Carry out any additional branch support tasks when needed
Essential skills and experience
- Full UK driving licence
- Basic computer literacy
- Strong eye for detail
- Self-starting approach with the ability to work collaboratively
- Good multitasking ability
- Willingness to join training programmes
Training and development
Prior valeting experience is desirable but not required. Full training can be given to candidates who show strong enthusiasm and meet the other key requirements. New starters will also attend Arnold Clark’s Valet Academy.
