About the Role
Flagsmith is looking for a designer who understands how to simplify a technically complex product for engineering-focused users. In this role, you will lead design work across the platform as well as the company’s public web properties. Responsibilities span maintaining the design system, speaking with customers, and collaborating with engineers to ship features.
This is a role with a high level of ownership in a small remote team. You will stay close to the product, the code, and the customer, and you will help shape decisions about what gets built and why. The position is fully remote, but candidates must be based in a timezone between UTC-5 and UTC+5.
What You'll Do
- Take ownership of the design system and keep it consistent, scalable, and aligned with the brand across all product areas and the public website.
- Research, design, and refine the key user flows used by technical audiences, then track what works and improve what does not.
- Work directly with customers and engineers to gather feedback, conduct interviews, and translate complicated needs into simple, usable features.
What You'll Bring
- Strong product thinking, with experience designing and launching real software products, preferably in developer tools or B2B SaaS.
- Confidence using Figma, familiarity with Storybook, and comfort working with SCSS and Bootstrap in the design-to-development process.
- Ability to read and write TypeScript, plus enough understanding of component architecture and front-end performance to collaborate effectively with engineers.

- A bias toward shipping and learning quickly, with good judgment about when a design is ready and when it needs more work.
- The ability to build genuine relationships with customers and understand what they are trying to optimise for.
- Self-direction, clear prioritisation, and proactive communication with stakeholders in a small-team environment.
Nice to Have
- Experience working with REST APIs or similar interfaces.
- Familiarity with a CMS platform, especially Webflow.
- Hands-on exposure to feature flags, experimentation platforms, or progressive delivery.
