Role overview

Jiffy Express Inc. is hiring a truck driver for its Grande Pointe, Manitoba location. This is an on-site position, which means the work must be performed at the physical workplace and cannot be done remotely.

A secondary school graduation certificate is required.

Experience

No previous experience is necessary; training will be provided.

Primary duties

• Operate vehicles as part of a two-driver team or in convoy formation.
• Handle the loading and unloading of cargo.
• Check the vehicle’s condition, including tires, lights, brakes, refrigeration equipment, and other systems.
• Carry out emergency roadside repairs when needed.
• Complete inspections before departure, during transit, and after trips, while monitoring the full condition of the vehicle.
• Carry out preventive maintenance tasks.
• Share updates and instructions with the central dispatch team.
• Maintain records for freight details, service hours, distance driven, and fuel use.
• Secure cargo by tarping it and ensuring its safety throughout transport.

Licences and certifications

• Air Brakes Endorsement.
• Class 1 or Class A driver's licence.

Truck and trailer experience

• Dry bulk hauling.
• Flatbed hauling.
• Refrigerated transport.
• Tractor-trailer operation.
