Role overview
Disney Cruise Line is looking for a Training and Standards Manager to help ensure its entertainment experiences are delivered with the polished, seamless quality associated with the brand. This role blends operational discipline with training expertise to build and maintain standards, processes, and programs that support safe, consistent, and memorable guest experiences. You will act as the main training contact for an assigned business area and the related ships, island locations, or destination sites.

Responsibilities
- Own complex projects related to creating or revising training materials, programs, and audit checklists.
- Manage project timing, milestones, deliverables, and final outcomes for training initiatives.
- Represent the entertainment operations function in discussions with partner teams.
- Act as the specialist for training content, documentation, delivery, and approval processes.
- Improve training standards, systems, and workflows across sites and departments through continuous improvement.
- Build and maintain processes that ensure required training is tracked and recorded, with particular attention to safety and regulatory training.
- Promote consistency across entertainment teams and locations by aligning with company standards and best practices.
- Apply a broad operational perspective to recommend improvements based on experience, insights, and business changes.
- Help develop and roll out high-quality and safety standards for Entertainment Operations.
- Set and review performance measures to support consistent quality across offerings.
- Perform audits and inspections to identify gaps and confirm standards are being followed.
- Work with leaders to implement corrective actions and strengthen ongoing performance.
- Design and deliver training programs tailored to Entertainment Operations roles.
- Assess training needs and create programs matched to specific responsibilities.
- Use interactive and engaging training methods that support retention and capability building.
- Provide training to cast members onboard and at shore-based private destinations when needed.
- Build strong relationships with assigned business teams and sites.
- Serve as the main contact for Service Excellence Trainers at assigned locations.
- Maintain frequent communication, share updates, answer questions, troubleshoot issues, and help keep delivery compliant and effective.
- Coordinate and prioritize incoming requests from the assigned business areas and sites.
- Act as a trusted partner by combining business judgment, creativity, and strong interpersonal skills.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification is required; preferred study areas include Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, Instructional Design, or a similar discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience in entertainment, hospitality, or tourism, with strong knowledge of operations, standardization, and training development.
- Prior experience in training delivery or facilitation.
- Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional projects and meet deadlines.
- Experience creating and maintaining detailed process documentation.
- Strong written and verbal communication, collaboration, and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to design and deliver engaging training programs.
- Capability to perform audits and inspections and verify compliance with standards.
- Comfort using Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and SharePoint, plus familiarity with tools such as DLearn and Articulate.
- Preferred background includes cruise line, shipboard, or entertainment operations experience.
- Preferred direct experience in areas such as Attractions, Port Adventures, Recreation, Youth Activities, Family & Adult Activities, or Entertainment Technical.
Compensation and benefits
The hiring range for this role in Celebration, Florida is $91,000 to $121,900 per year. Actual base pay may differ depending on internal equity, the candidate’s location, role-specific knowledge, skills, and experience.
A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may also be included, alongside the full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, depending on the level and position offered.
