Role overview
Nestlé Zimbabwe is hiring a Tele-Medical Delegate to operate from its Harare head office in Zimbabwe. The role focuses on supporting breastfeeding advocacy and communicating the science behind infant nutrition during the first 1,000 days of life. The position is intended for a professional who can combine evidence-based product discussion with strong territory execution and compliance discipline.
Core duties
- Present the infant nutrition portfolio and related concepts to healthcare professionals within the assigned territory, using sound product knowledge, supporting evidence, and advanced negotiation skills.
- Oversee a territory of roughly 1,000 healthcare professionals and healthcare institutions, including prospecting, gathering market insights, and sharing those insights with the wider team.
- Deliver field-force performance targets through accurate master data handling, healthcare professional classification and segmentation, schedule planning, call-rate management, call-strike-rate tracking, and territory action plan execution using CRM and other relevant systems.
- Carry out the remote interaction model as required for the role.
- Develop, implement, and execute the agreed territory plan while staying within the assigned budget.
- Follow the code management and compliance framework in all daily activities to ensure alignment with the WHO International Code for Breastmilk Substitutes, Nestlé internal instructions, and local S.I. 192 of 2024 requirements.
Candidate profile
- A bachelor’s degree in a science-related field such as Nutrition, Food Technology, Food Science, Dietetics, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Science, or Pharmacology.
- At least 2 years of experience in detailing nutrition or pharmaceutical products.
- Working knowledge of data management on digital devices, along with intermediate MS Excel skills and data analysis experience.
- Ability to speak two or more local languages.
- Strong planning, organizing, communication, problem-solving, and negotiation abilities.
- Comfort working independently with a self-starting, solution-focused, adaptable, and results-driven approach.
- Readiness to travel, including occasional overnight trips away from home.
- Experience building relationships with new healthcare institutions and HCPs, while also strengthening existing partnerships.
- Solid computer literacy, including MS Office and MS Excel.
- Exposure to virtual engagement methods will be an advantage.
