Role overview

Fraser Coast Regional Council is hiring a permanent full-time Team Member for its Infrastructure Services team within Infrastructure Operations in Hervey Bay, Queensland. This role sits at Operations Level 3 and offers an annual salary of $71,780 plus superannuation, along with an annualised allowance of $2,701 and a 9-day fortnight.

The council is focused on building stronger communities and is looking for someone dependable, safety-conscious, and comfortable working in a team environment to help deliver road and drainage maintenance work across the Fraser Coast.

Key duties

• Carry out road construction and maintenance activities to the required standard.
• Use plant, tools, and equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
• Support traffic management and site safety controls.
• Perform pre-start inspections and basic maintenance on equipment.
• Maintain accurate records such as work logs, timesheets, and service requests.
• Work well with others and contribute to ongoing improvement within the team.

Required experience and qualifications

• General Construction Induction Card (White Card).
• Current MR driver licence recognised in Queensland.
• Hands-on experience in road and drainage maintenance work.
• Ability to operate plant, tools, and equipment safely.
• Good knowledge of WHS obligations and safe work methods.
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach.
• Confidence using mobile devices and digital systems for recording work.

Preferred skills and tickets

• Traffic Management Implementation Level 2.
• Chainsaw Level 1.
• Safe Working Near Exposed Live Parts (SWNELP).
