Supply Chain Manager

Role overview

The Supply Chain Manager will oversee the full flow of supply chain activity, improving how purchasing, planning, inventory, and production work together to support growth, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

This position turns sales expectations into practical purchasing and production plans, keeps internal teams aligned, and makes sure supply, inventory, and manufacturing decisions are carried out effectively. The role is central to linking business strategy with day-to-day execution so the company can scale while protecting cost, quality, and delivery outcomes.

Reports to: General Manager

Key responsibilities

• Convert forecasted sales demand into workable purchasing and production schedules, keeping demand, supply, and manufacturing in sync.
• Create and carry out supply chain plans that support company goals, including decisions on whether to make items internally or source them externally.
• Guide demand and supply planning efforts while keeping inventory at the right level and ensuring materials move smoothly through the operation.
• Build, roll out, and refine supply chain processes, tools, and inventory structures so they can support future growth.
• Set up, track, and report on key measures such as safety, quality, delivery, and cost, and use those results to drive improvement.
• Review data to find patterns, gaps, and improvement opportunities, then implement solutions that produce clear business impact.
• Work closely with sales, engineering, and production teams to keep plans aligned and execution on track.
• Develop supplier partnerships that improve reliability, performance, and cost efficiency.
• Coach and lead the supply chain and production control team, strengthening capability and accountability.
• Promote a culture of responsibility, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the function.
• Oversee the supply chain budget and lead cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or service.

Qualifications and experience

• A degree or diploma in supply chain management, business, manufacturing, or a similar discipline.
• At least 3 years of progressive experience in supply chain, procurement, sourcing, or production planning.
• Background in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Strong working knowledge of ERP and MRP systems, plus inventory control tools.
• Ability to turn forecasts into practical supply and production plans.
• Proven track record of improving processes and increasing operational efficiency.
• Experience leading or developing team members.
• Understanding of supplier management and vendor performance improvement.
• Exposure to Lean methods and continuous improvement practices.
• Professional certifications such as APICS or SCOR are an asset.
• Experience managing budgets and leading cost reduction initiatives.
