Supply Chain Manager

About the Opportunity

A growing manufacturing business in Boise, Idaho is seeking a Supply Chain Manager to take ownership of purchasing, inventory control, production planning, logistics, and supplier management. This is a practical leadership position suited to someone who enjoys working in a smaller company setting where teamwork, continuous improvement, and strong operating discipline matter.

In this role, you will partner with production, finance, operations, and leadership teams to make sure materials are available to meet customer demand, inventory records stay accurate, costs are managed, and supply chain performance keeps improving.

Compensation

The annual salary for this position is $90,000 to $115,000.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee purchasing and procurement activities, including choosing vendors, negotiating terms, and handling contracts.
• Create and maintain inventory plans that keep stock at the right level while reducing storage and carrying expenses.
• Coordinate production planning and material needs so manufacturing schedules can be met.
• Track supplier delivery performance, lead times, pricing, and quality standards.
• Spot supply chain risks, shortages, and potential disruptions, then put safeguards in place.
• Work closely with production and operations teams to ensure materials arrive when needed.
• Manage inbound and outbound freight, logistics flow, and warehouse coordination.
• Review inventory turns, forecast accuracy, and other key supply chain measures.
• Lead improvement efforts that raise efficiency, lower cost, and support growth.
• Build and sustain strong working relationships with suppliers and strategic partners.
• Keep ERP and inventory systems accurate and up to date.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and broader operational planning.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Manufacturing, or a related field is preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience in supply chain, purchasing, procurement, inventory, or operations management within a manufacturing setting.
• Solid knowledge of production planning, inventory management, and supplier coordination.
• Hands-on experience using ERP platforms and inventory management tools.
• Demonstrated ability to negotiate supplier agreements and manage vendor relationships.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
• Comfort working across departments and influencing outcomes in a cross-functional environment.
• Certifications such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, APICS, or CPIM are an advantage.

Preferred Experience

• Background in manufacturing or industrial production environments.
• Experience with demand planning and forecasting.
• Knowledge of inventory optimization and warehouse operations.
• Exposure to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Experience in small to mid-sized organizations.
