Role overview
This position is for a Storeperson based in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. The role focuses on keeping the warehouse organised, accurate, and efficient while supporting the broader team with day-to-day store and logistics activities.
The person in this role will be responsible for carefully handling picking, packing, dispatching, and receiving tasks, as well as managing the movement of goods and assisting with stock checks. The workplace is expected to maintain a positive team environment, and the successful candidate will contribute to that culture.
Key duties
- Carry out general warehouse work, including picking, packing, receiving, dispatching, and loading or unloading trucks.
- Work with the Operations Coordinator to organise and coordinate daily warehouse operations.
- Make sure inbound and outbound tasks are completed within the required timeframe.
- Look for ways to improve how the business operates and suggest practical new ideas.
- Use warehouse systems correctly and ensure operators are trained to support safe and effective work.
- Help improve systems, processes, standards, and performance in safety and environmental practices.
- Support end-to-end operational performance with the goal of improving profitability.
- Understand customer needs, respond appropriately to situations, and identify ways to improve service quality.
Working relationships
This role works closely with the Operations Coordinator, Warehouse Manager, Purchasing/Receiving team, and the Inventory & Customer Service Officer.
What you need to succeed
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar warehouse setting.
- Solid understanding of safe warehouse procedures.
- A valid forklift licence is required.
- Having your own car is preferred.
- Experience with general warehousing tasks such as picking, packing, dispatching, receiving, and loading/unloading trucks.
- Strong attention to detail and a reliable, positive can-do attitude.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good communication skills, including active listening.
- Physical fitness and the ability to perform well under pressure.
