Role Summary
This full-time, on-site position in Abu Dhabi is suited to a Steel Fixer who can prepare and install steel reinforcement for concrete structures. The role involves working from technical drawings, shaping and placing steel bars or mesh, fastening reinforcement securely, and helping ensure the strength and stability of structures. The position also includes safe use and upkeep of tools and equipment, while coordinating with engineers and construction teams.
Key Duties
- Measure, cut, bend, and place steel bars or mesh according to engineering drawings.
- Assemble reinforcement frameworks and secure them in position for concrete work.
- Use appropriate tools and equipment to complete reinforcement tasks efficiently.
- Work closely with engineers, supervisors, and site crews to meet construction requirements.
- Follow all safety rules and site procedures during daily operations.
- Inspect, maintain, and carry out minor repairs on tools and equipment when needed.
Technical Qualifications
- Practical experience using power tools effectively.
- Working knowledge of welding and iron-related tasks.
- Awareness of fall protection rules and safe working practices.
- Experience in rigging, including controlling and moving heavy loads securely.
- Good understanding of construction-site safety requirements and procedures.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and blueprints.
- Strong physical fitness, stamina, and the ability to work in varied site conditions.
