Role Summary
The Service Technician is responsible for operating a company service truck and traveling to assigned locations to service, pump, and clean portable restrooms and/or holding tanks. This role is central to how the business serves its customers.
Key Duties
- Drive a service truck and complete assigned driving tasks in line with company and DOT rules.
- Carry out all job duties safely and follow USS and DOT safety standards to avoid incidents and injuries.
- Work in a variety of physical positions, including sitting, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, while frequently lifting or pushing 50 to 150 lbs during the shift.
- Service portable toilets according to the company’s 8-point service standard.
- Interact with customers at job sites to make sure services are completed to their expectations.
- Adapt routes and schedules as needed to meet changing customer requirements.
- Share routing suggestions with the Operations Manager, Supervisor, or Coordinator to improve efficiency and customer service.
- Plan ahead for customer needs by discussing current and future portable toilet requirements.
Required Qualifications
- At least 2 years of commercial driving experience.
- A valid driver’s license, either CDL or non-commercial.
- Strong time management, customer service, and communication abilities.
- Good problem-solving skills and sound judgment for decision-making.
Physical Demands
- Remain seated while driving and stand while servicing equipment.
- Use hands and fingers to operate tools, controls, or objects.
- Repeat motions throughout the workday.
- See objects clearly at both close and farther distances.
- Speak clearly enough for customers to understand.
- Understand spoken instructions and conversations.
- Hear sounds and distinguish between them.
- Walk for up to 30 minutes at a time without strain.
- Get in and out of equipment by stepping and kneeling.
- Lift up to 40 lbs from waist to shoulder level.
- Lift 30 lbs from the floor to overhead.
- Crouch and squat as needed.
- Push and pull 100 lbs horizontally.

Compensation
The hourly base pay for this position is $17.64 to $23.81. Final pay is determined by factors such as location, relevant skills, experience, education, and certifications. The total compensation package includes base pay plus a comprehensive benefits program.
Identification and Compliance
Some roles may require secure site access and/or domestic air travel. In such cases, candidates must have acceptable identification that meets state and federal requirements, such as a REAL ID-compliant driver’s license or state ID, or a U.S. passport. This does not add any documentation requirement beyond what is allowed under the federal I-9 verification process.
