About the Role
The Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE) is the country’s banking and insurance sector regulator and supervisor. Its work supports monetary management, financial stability, consumer protection, prudent reserve management, strong financial infrastructure, and the use of digital technologies. The bank is seeking an experienced and driven Senior Manager for its General Secretariat function to lead key secretariat activities with a strong focus on governance, compliance, and operational quality. In this role, you will act as a subject matter specialist, strengthen board and committee effectiveness, and support the Central Bank’s strategic agenda.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead the rollout and ongoing refinement of governance policies and frameworks, ensuring accountability and compliance across committees.
- Make sure board and committee operations follow governance principles, internal policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Own the planning, coordination, and logistics for Board of Directors, Executive Committee, and sub-committee meetings, including calendar handling and agenda setting.
- Review, prepare, and distribute meeting packs and reference materials on time and at a high standard.
- Gather, structure, and prepare memorandums and supporting papers needed for meetings, making sure they are complete and relevant.
- Write, document, and circulate board and committee resolutions while maintaining accurate records and timely communication.
- Track follow-up actions and implementation progress for decisions, coordinating with relevant stakeholders as needed.
- Ensure resolutions comply with Delegation of Authority rules and are escalated appropriately when required.
- Check the technical quality of presentations, executive summaries, and reports for clarity, accuracy, and alignment with prior decisions.
- Maintain strong quality control over all meeting documentation and materials for senior leadership.
- Act as a main contact point for board and committee members on meeting details, decisions, and action items.
- Work with internal teams and outside stakeholders, including the Prime Minister’s Office, to manage requests and information exchange.
- Recommend and implement improvements to secretariat processes, procedures, and documentation to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Help design and apply performance frameworks for Executive Committees.
- Contribute to team capability-building and knowledge transfer to support business continuity.
- Carry out additional duties as needed outside the usual scope of the role.
Self-Management Expectations
- Set annual performance objectives with the reporting manager and work consistently toward achieving them.
- Identify personal training and development needs and align them with the reporting manager so the right learning opportunities can be arranged and completed.
- Work to maintain a high level of proficiency across all skills and competencies required for the position.
- Stay updated on professional developments, new methods, and current issues through ongoing learning and growth.
Qualifications and Experience
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline such as Business Administration, Management, Law, Accounting, or a similar field.
- Relevant professional certifications or memberships are an advantage.
- At least 6 years of relevant experience, preferably within a regulatory organization.
- Previous experience supporting Executive Committees in large organizations, with exposure to Risk, Corporate Governance, and Legal Advisory functions.
