Senior Estimator

Role overview

This is a permanent Senior Estimator opportunity with a construction company focused on large design-build work in Greenville, SC. The position sits at the center of estimating and preconstruction activity and calls for someone who can handle cost analysis, project coordination, and proposal development in a fast-moving, detail-focused setting.

What you will do

• Study two-dimensional drawings to understand scope, requirements, and constructability.
• Build detailed cost estimates using BlueBeam or comparable estimating tools.
• Evaluate labor, equipment, materials, and other construction expenses to produce accurate budgets.
• Prepare RFQs, monitor bid activity, and coordinate closely with project managers to keep work aligned.
• Draft written proposals and deliver them to clients and other stakeholders.
• Negotiate contract terms and estimate details to support favorable outcomes for the business.
• Use practical knowledge of building construction to develop realistic timelines and project budgets.
• Work with the broader team to help complete design-build projects on schedule and within budget.

What we’re looking for

The ideal candidate brings at least five years of construction estimating experience, preferably in a senior capacity, along with strong working knowledge of base building projects. You should be comfortable reading 2D drawings, preparing bids and RFQs, partnering with project managers, and presenting proposals to clients and stakeholders.

Success in this role also depends on strong negotiation ability, solid communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to perform well in a deadline-driven environment. A bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
