Role overview
We are hiring a Senior Data Engineer to help build and evolve scalable data platforms and modern analytics capabilities in Riyadh. This position is suited to someone who enjoys creating dependable data solutions and working with large-scale data technologies.
Location: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
Experience required: 4+ years
Key responsibilities
- Develop, refine, and support scalable ETL and ELT pipelines.
- Use Apache Spark to process data at large scale.
- Create and maintain workflow orchestration with Apache Airflow.
- Design and manage data warehouse and data lake structures.
- Enhance data models, system performance, and platform reliability.
- Partner closely with analytics and business stakeholders.
- Apply CI/CD and DataOps methods to delivery and operations.
- Maintain strong standards for data quality, governance, and operational efficiency.
Required qualifications
- Hands-on experience with Python and SQL.
- Proven practical knowledge of Apache Spark.
- Working experience with Apache Airflow.
- Understanding of data warehousing and data lake concepts.
- Experience creating ETL and ELT pipelines.
- Exposure to cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, or to the Cloudera ecosystem.
- Solid grasp of data modeling and performance tuning.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DataOps practices.
Preferred experience
- Exposure to streaming technologies such as Kafka.
- Experience with BI or analytics tools.
- Background working in Agile teams.
