Senior Contract Manager

Role overview

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of contract management across major infrastructure and capital projects from procurement through execution and final close-out.
• Create contract strategies, lead agreement negotiations, and advise on commercial structures, risk distribution, and contractual duties.
• Handle contract administration tasks such as variations, claims, change control, compliance matters, and dispute handling.
• Track contract delivery, governance, KPIs, budgets, and commercial exposure, and put mitigation actions in place when needed.
• Develop and sustain strong working relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers, and senior stakeholders while delivering clear reporting for executive audiences.
• Contribute to business development, support client account work, and help lead, coach, and develop contract and commercial teams.

Requirements

• At least 15 years of experience in contract and commercial management across infrastructure, capital projects, construction, or regulated utilities.
• A degree in Engineering, Construction, Quantity Surveying, Law, or a closely related field.
• Solid working knowledge of NEC4, FIDIC, LOGIC, and contract administration practices, including claims, variations, and dispute resolution.
• Demonstrated skill in managing contractual and commercial risk on large and highly complex programmes.
• Background in client-facing or consulting settings, with experience advising senior stakeholders on commercial direction.
• Strong capabilities in leadership, communication, negotiation, stakeholder management, and solving problems effectively.
